“God answered my prayers and sends me help through Psalms Home Care,” states Janae Harpool, “I am 88 years of age with some serious health issues and am fortunate that I can stay in my own home.  I am fortunate to have an active mind, to be ambulatory and to have family nearby. However, I insist that my family stay active in their own lives as I did. The caregivers through Psalms Home Care allow me to give the gift of peace-of-mind to my family. Psalms Home Care is an ‘extension’ of my limbs that do not move as they used to. The caregivers drive me to shop for my quilting supplies, groceries, medications, and even iron my quilt toppers. When Charlie passed away in 2006, I needed to occupy my time, so I started quilting and so far have designed and made 29 quilts for my family. God continues to answer my prayers.”

Throughout Janae’s life, she lived in the AR-LA-TX area. Her ties to Denton, TX stem from her late husband, Charles Harpool, related to Tom, Pinky and Albert Harpool. Janae and Charlie had a home in Denton for many years. She grew up in a working family. Her mother was a nurse and her father was a farmer, welder, and ship-builder. Janae attended North Western State University and spent her adult life as a mother (of 4 sons), wife, daughter and cosmetologist. Her first shop (of 5) was in her home and she retired in 1980. Janae was very active in the Order of the Eastern Star including serving as a State Chaplain. Janae has an active mind, sharp wit, keeps up with current affairs and loves sports particularly the NCAA March Madness.

We began using Psalms Home Care in 2014 when my father (now 80) decided he wanted to leave an assisted living community. Since that time, Psalms has provided 24/7 care for him. Dad had a stroke 17 years ago, has mobility issues and can not communicate well. What began as fairly hands-off assistance with basic household help has become consistent hands-on care as he has deteriorated over the years due to age and illness. Psalms has provided kind and caring people consistently, and Dad hasn’t always been an easy client! We are beyond grateful to have found Cheryl. Their help has allowed Dad to have the quiet, private life he wants, and allows my siblings and I to have the peace of mind that he is being well cared for. I don’t know what we would do without them.

My client has severe, long standing elderly care needs and the women who are working with him have been outstanding. With Cheryl’s assistance we have been able to have the same care givers each day of the week, a feature that is imperative for my client’s situation. They exhibit professional standards and caring service, but most importantly a sense of humor.

I contacted Psalms Home Care because my mom needed some extra help. Cheryl, the owner, touched base to see how things were going. My words to her, “It is a love story in the making”. Both of my parents adore the care giver that Cheryl carefully selected just for them. I am forever thankful.

We have used Psalms Home Care for a little over a month now. Our home caretaker was fabulous. He work with my dad and actually had him standing after 4 months of being bed ridden. Highly recommended Cheryl and her great employees.
